Start UpInitial Order

So last week I made my first order with The Malt Miller and settled on the following kit:

  • Brewtools B40 pro
  • SS Brewtech 7gal Unitank
  • SS Brewtech 7gal Chronical BME
  • Brewtools 3 Valve Setup
  • Brewtools Inline oxygenation kit
  • Various other accessories

I also purchased some secondary brewery kit to make brewing easier such as:

  • Stainless Steel double sink and flexible tap
  • 2 no. Stainless steel tables to brew and measure out on
  • Weighing Scales
  • Measuring jugs
  • These were all purchased from Nisbets

I also ordered a 30l kettle from Klarstein that I’ll use as my sparge water tank.

Why Brewtools?

When I first looked it to brewing years ago I was set on the Braumeister all in one brew unit. It looks like a really nice piece of kit and easy to use. Then the Grainfather came out and that too seems like a good piece of kit and it had a big home brewer community and following. However when I started looking recently I came across the Brewtools units on the Malt Miller website and liked the look of them. I then did some searching online and came across YouTube videos from Bradley ThePortlyGentleman and he seems to be loving the B80 unit and making some really helpful and interesting videos so that made up my mind.

Choosing the size

I originally thought about going for the Brewtools B80 Pro and the 14gal fermenters but decided on the smaller kit to begin with as I imagine my first batches may not be great and would rather pour 7gal than 14! This will be my initial kit and if all goes to plan will upgrade in the future.
